"Photography is reliving," say the experts. Perhaps that's why, in every momentous occasion in life, human beings choose to freeze those moments. Just as with weddings or other important gatherings, newborn photo sessions are commonplace.

The practice, which originated in the USA, is known as newborn photography. More and more photographers are choosing this field, each with a defined aesthetic but with a common goal: to highlight the natural beauty of each newborn.

Who can forget the tender photographic productions of the pioneer Anne Geddes? Established in the 90s, she set trends through her infant portraits, creating imaginary worlds where babies become bees, butterflies, fairies, and other fantastical characters. Currently, the trend is towards minimalist photo sessions using fabric backgrounds or smooth textures, more neutral colors, and where the baby is nude with few accessories.

Our style is organic-natural, we use pastel and neutral colors trying to make the newborn the protagonist, to highlight the baby's figure, his face, hands, tail and rolls, "all those things that make us fall in love with a newborn."

The sessions last approximately 3 hours and the big secret is to wait until the baby is sound asleep and then, get to work!

"White noise"—that is, sounds that reproduce the sounds of the sea, rain, or birds—is a great way to relax them, as these rhythms resemble those they heard inside their mother's womb.

When should the session be held? The best time to photograph babies is between 6 and 12 days old. This is the ideal stage to capture poses similar to those the baby held in the womb. Newborns are happy when they're curled up in a ball because that's how they've been until then. They also sleep approximately 18 hours a day and don't yet have colic, reflux, or other discomforts.

Since this practice originated in the USA, the positions have English names such as Froggy, Bum Up, and Chin on Hands. The most important thing is to ensure the baby's safety and comfort for best results. Accessories such as crocheted items, wool blankets, and wooden boxes that create a bed can be incorporated into the poses.

However, professionals have their favorites. The ones we like best are those that convey more than just a baby lying down; portraits of babies held by their parents fascinate us because they capture the fragility that characterizes a newborn.

Unposed poses also work, where the baby yawns, stretches, or makes a face.

It is very important to keep in mind that we are experts in the handling of newborns; in addition to being mothers, we are experienced professionals in the field. It is a delicate task, and we follow the method and advice of Dr. Harvey Karp, a nationally renowned pediatrician and specialist in child development.

Themes:

The trend is to capture the baby naturally, but often creative elements can be used for decoration such as poufs, boxes, buckets, armchairs or any element where the baby can rest in a relaxed way in a "vintage" style, in addition to using accessories such as blankets, hats, headbands and crowns.

Including siblings, parents, and family members is another way to create a perfect memory for a lifetime. The connection that exists between twin siblings is reflected in the portraits; they naturally hug or hold hands just like in the womb.

We also offer different options to track your baby's first year. Write to us on WhatsApp at 653435170 and we will send you the brochure detailing everything.
